Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chad Hammer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve McMichael!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Igor Prikhodko and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McMichael avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Hammer lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Chad Hammer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McMichael lands with a good body shot.

McMichael displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hammer throws out the jab.
McMichael looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

McMichael throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hammer stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hammer feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends McMichael sprawling to the canvas! McMichael rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Hammer finish him?!
McMichael is rocked!

McMichael looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Hammer is rocked!
Hammer walks straight into a right hand from McMichael - that's dropped him! McMichael jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Hammer from any more punishment! Hammer complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
