A fine choice. Laperierre is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Tha Shiznit. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Laperierre has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Casanova looks to land a combination but Laperierre avoids it well.

Casanova throws a looping overhand right but Laperierre ducks down to avoid it.
Casanova shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Laperierre counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Casanova takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Laperierre shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Casanova is trying to defend but Laperierre finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Casanova scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Laperierre manages to mount him!

Laperierre is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Casanova with him. Casanova is trying to defend but Laperierre has an arm under the chin now! Casanova grimaces and is forced to tap out!
