Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Philip Roth! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Boney Goat! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roth dives in and scores a takedown into Goat's guard. Goat wants to sweep here but Roth controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Goat trying to keep a closed guard but Roth is proving a slippery customer.
Roth trying to control but Goat is working from the bottom. Goat wants to improve his position but instead Roth has moved into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Goat trying to control from the bottom.
Goat tries to roll over but Roth keeps him under control. Goat is doing well to control the position and prevent Roth from advancing to side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roth wants to take a breather but Goat is having none of it. Roth looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Roth is taking a breather. Goat says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Roth trying to advance position but Goat counters by regaining guard. Goat is trying to control the position but Roth postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Goat looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Goat keeps trying to improve his position. Roth controlling from the top position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Roth defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Goat. It looked like Roth wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Roth avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Roth punishes Goat's body with a nice straight punch. Goat fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Roth to the ground. Goat is now in Roth's guard. Goat avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Roth has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Goat doesn't defend quickly enough and Roth has managed to lock this one up! Can Goat escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Roth on a fantastic submission victory.
