Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dawindi Buktot (ranked 23632 p4p, 23592 weight class) and Walay Buut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 29 - 43 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dawindi Buktot! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 39 - 34 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walay Buut! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Buut shoots and misses and Buktot counters with a head kick. That will keep Buut thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Buktot closes this distance looking for a takedown but Buut circles away. Buut steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Buktot throws a head kick that Buut semi-blocks.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Buut. And Buktot counters with a quick kick to the body but Buut blocks it. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buut throws the kick towards the body but Buktot avoids it. Buktot jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buut leaves Buktot with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Buut with the counter takedown but Buktot avoids it easily. Buut shoots in but no luck this time. Buktot throws a quick counter kick to the body but Buut avoids it. Dawindi Buktot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walay Buut. Buut closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Buktot quickly recovers to half guard. Buktot is looking to improve his position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Buut fails with the takedown. And Buktot counters with a quick kick to the body but Buut blocks it. Buktot fails to land the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Buktot fails with a takedown attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Buut takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Dawindi Buktot will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Buktot shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Buut is trying to counter with his kicks. Buktot shoots in and bounces Buut off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Buktot showing good wrestling skills to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buut seems keen to control Buktot's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buut is trying to keep Buktot in close.
Buut trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Buut tries to land a sweep but no joy. Buktot wants to control from the top but Buut keeps moving. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Buut is defended easily by Buktot. Buktot jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Buktot shoots for a takedown but Buut saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Buktot tries to clinch there but Buut circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buktot dives in for a single leg takedown but Buut sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Buut is trying to counter with his kicks. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dawindi Buktot. That's going to take a lot out of him. Buktot drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Buut goes for a takedown attempt but Buktot pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Buut drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Both fighters take a look at the clock. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Buut tries for a kimura but Buktot is defending well. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Walay Buut showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Buktot closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Buktot lands in his opponent's guard. Buut looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Walay Buut has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buut has control of Buktot's left arm, preventing Buktot from doing any damage. Buktot sitting in guard here, content to control. Buktot stopping the sweep attempt from Buut. Buut is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Buktot shoots for a double leg takedown but Buut sprawls well. He's pushed Buktot's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Buktot fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Buut avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buut manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Buktot on his heels. He'll look to pass Buktot's guard now, I'm sure. Buut content to stall in guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Buktot is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Buut content to stall in guard here.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Walay Buut. I think Buut has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
