Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derwent Bolt (ranked 1176 p4p, 1131 weight class) and Shape Shifter (ranked 176 p4p, 166 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bolt shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bolt showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shifter gets full guard.
Bolt wants to pass the guard but Shifter is keeping the position.
Bolt wants to control from the top but Shifter keeps moving.
Shifter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bolt's guard.

Bolt is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Shifter throws a strike but Bolt rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Shifter has his foot on Bolt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bolt works his way back into a safe position though.

Bolt has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Shifter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bolt can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Oh but Shifter is tightening it up a little... Bolt has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Bolt reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Bolt taps out! Nice BJJ there by Shifter!
