Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Mason (ranked 3487 p4p, 2272 weight class) and Apollo Rocky (ranked 379 p4p, 259 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason tries to clinch up but Rocky circles away and keeps his distance.
Rocky throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Mason counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Mason thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Rocky if he has to take too many more of those.

Rocky throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mason on the side of the head.

Mason sizes up Rocky with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Mason changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rocky looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rocky tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mason wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Mason advances nicely into full mount.
Mason wants to control the pace but Rocky is squirming around nicely.

Mason jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Rocky is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Rocky and Mason has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Rocky sneaks out the side door and pushes Mason away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Rocky has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Mason throws the kick towards the body but Rocky avoids it.
Mason shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Rocky forces Mason back against the cage and clinches.
And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Apollo Rocky.
Well Rocky has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
