Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darius Perry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Theo Damus!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Anthony Taglia and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perry closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

Perry escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Perry tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Damus was well out of range. Poor timing from Perry.
Damus lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Perry has taken the fight to the clinch.
Damus tries to throw a body punch but Perry avoids it by throwing Damus back against the ropes.
Perry is pushing Damus up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Damus wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Perry has him pressed against the ropes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Damus takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Perry looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Damus wants to clinch but Perry slips to the side
and Perry counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Perry lands a right hook to the body.

Damus misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Damus moves in looking to clinch but Perry pushes him off.
It looked like Perry was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Damus.
Perry lands with a straight right. Damus didn't see that one coming.

Perry has managed to clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Damus throws an elbow but it misses.
Perry lands with a left to the head.
Damus tries a body shot but Perry blocks it.

Perry breaks the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Darius Perry dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Perry bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Damus is rocked!
Theo Damus is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Damus tries to close the distance and clinch but Perry swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Damus is still on wobbly legs! Can Perry finish him?
Perry scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Perry connects with a quick right hand that sends Damus tumbling backwards onto the canvas! As his head bounces into the ropes, it doesn't look good for him beating the count! 3,4,5,6,7 and he's up! No, he's back down again! This one is all over - the referee has called off the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Darius Perry!
Theo Damus spoke after the fight, saying 'We'll just have to work harder.'.
