Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jarrod Beard (ranked 227 p4p, 145 weight class) and Svend Thorsby (ranked 16 p4p, 6 weight class). Beard comes into the arena with Ladies Love Country Boys - Trace Adkins blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jarrod Beard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Svend Thorsby!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorsby fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Thorsby throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Thorsby tries a head kick but it misses.
Thorsby leaves Beard with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
The crowd cheers as Thorsby lands an impressive looking overhand right. Beard doesn't seem phased though.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Beard checks a leg kick.
Beard misses with a hook
and Thorsby counters with a straight right hand.
Beard scores with the left hand. Thorsby knows he should have avoided that one.
Beard has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Final Mile in the buildup to the fight.
Beard stuns Thorsby with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Thorsby felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Beard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Beard is nestled in close to Thorsby, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Beard seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Thorsby does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Beard connects with a nice short shot to Thorsby's temple.
Thorsby is rocked!
Beard drops an elbow to the side of Thorsby's head.
Thorsby is still in real trouble! Can Beard finish him?
Beard is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Thorsby is hurt! He's hurt bad - Beard fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Thorsby from any more punishment! Congratulations to Beard! Great finish!
