Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derek Gowl (ranked 4027 p4p, 2957 weight class) and Jesse Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Derek Gowl! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jesse Kim! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kim moves out of range of the body kick. Kim throws a head kick that misses and Gowl moves into the clinch. Kim jumps into guard, dragging Gowl to the mat.
Kim is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Kim looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Gowl controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Gowl connects with a couple of short punches. Kim should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gowl looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Gowl avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kim pushes Gowl off and gets back to his feet.
Kim misses with a takedown attempt - Gowl sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Gowl throws a big counter combination but Kim scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Gowl slaps away a takedown attempt from Kim, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kim gets tackled into the cage by Gowl. Gowl maintains the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kim tries to break free but Gowl pushes him back against the cage. Gowl gets underhooks to prevent Kim's takedown attempt.
Derek Gowl has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesse Kim. Kim has Gowl pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Gowl manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Kim is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Kim fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Gowl stalls. Gowl really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Gowl holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Gowl breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gowl shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kim manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Gowl tries to stand but Kim is controlling from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gowl sitting in guard, not really doing much. Gowl preventing the sweep. Gowl looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Gowl tries to free his leg and advance position but Kim is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Kim working a defensive guard here.
Gowl trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gowl scoring with punches to the head and body. Kim has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Gowl off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Gowl shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Kim controlling the position for now. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Derek Gowl will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Gowl shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kim is trying to defend but Gowl finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Kim kicks off Gowl and gets to his feet. Gowl throws a sloppy head kick and Kim counters with a good low kick that Gowl was not able to check. Gowl shoots in and bounces Kim off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kim uses the cage to get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gowl connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kim's hands.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gowl throws a series of punches but Kim moves out of range. Kim shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gowl defends it nicely. Gowl half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Kim avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kim avoids the head kick by Gowl.
A little jabbing left from Kim on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Gowl gets the takedown into side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gowl controls the position from side control. Gowl wants to stand but Kim has his arm trapped.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kim is looking to reverse the position. Kim manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Kim has eaten all the pies! Kim trying to hold on to Gowl's head to control him but Gowl postures up.
Gowl not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gowl controlling the action here. Kim trying to control here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Kim fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kim fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Derek Gowl has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesse Kim. Gowl swats away the attempt to clinch by Kim. Kim looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Gowl!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gowl is trying to control Kim's posture but Kim avoids it. Gowl on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gowl tries to get out of the position. Kim cracks Gowl with an elbow. That is naaassty. Kim working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Kim is looking to take a break and control but Gowl is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Jesse Kim will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Gowl gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Gowl turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Kim throws Gowl to one side and escapes! Gowl throws a head kick but Kim moves out of range.
Gowl moves into the clinch. Kim throws a punch but it's blocked by Gowl. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kim jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gowl walks away with a smile on his face. Kim gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Gowl attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Kim fails with a takedown attempt. Kim goes for a double leg but Gowl avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Gowl continues to drive forward. Derek Gowl has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesse Kim.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gowl throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kim drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Kim wants to control from the top but Gowl keeps moving. Gowl had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kim defends it easily. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kim drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gowl manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kim has Gowl in his guard. Gowl postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kim had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gowl defends it easily. Kim looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kim is trying to keep Gowl in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gowl controlling from the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gowl tries to stand but Kim is controlling from the bottom. Kim keeping full guard, as Gowl tries to pass. Kim lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Kim stands and throws Gowl's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kim lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Kim passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Gowl! Gowl holds of for dear life. Kim trying to control but Gowl is having none of it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kim manages to capitalize on a mistake by Gowl to take his back!
And that's the end of the fight! Jesse Kim comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Kim has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
