Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roberto Carlos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ronald Ranger! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlos tries to work over Ranger's front leg with a kick but Ranger checks it. Ranger blocks a low kick nicely. Carlos tries to sprawl but Ranger drives through with a takedown into half guard. Well, if Ranger is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Ranger is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Carlos is defending against the submission attempts here by Ranger.
Carlos actively working from the bottom here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carlos wants to get back to full guard. Ranger works his way into side control. Ranger is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Carlos has escaped the position, nice work there. Carlos sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlos wants to improve his position but Ranger is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ranger is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Carlos is looking to improve his position.
Ranger is looking for a kimura but Carlos is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ranger to get the leverage. Ranger should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Carlos tries to get to full guard but Ranger has control of the leg. Ranger looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Carlos wants to control but Ranger is keeping busy.
Carlos on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carlos tries to get out of the position.

Ranger is keen to just control but Carlos is a slippery customer. Carlos is pressing down on Ranger's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Ranger won't allow Carlos to sweep him here. Ranger seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Carlos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ranger trying to control the position from guard on top but Carlos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ranger advances position into side control! Carlos is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Ranger off and has taken his back! Carlos scores with strikes from the back.
It looks like Ronald Ranger has been cut. Carlos lands an elbow to the side of the head.
That has opened up Ronald Ranger's cut even more. Ranger rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Ranger is trying to control but can't.
Ranger makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ranger. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Carlos postures up and lands a big shot to Ranger's brow. Carlos lands a couple of elbows.
The cut above Ronald Ranger's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ronald Ranger's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
