The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sparraaja fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Sparraaja shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Filho looks to score with a jab to the body but Sparraaja is just out of range. Sparraaja looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Filho is fending him off so far but Sparraaja persists. Nope, Filho circles away and we're back to standing. Sparraaja looks for a takedown here. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sparraaja uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Filho. Sparraaja shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Filho is looking to control Sparraaja's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Filho avoid being mounted? Sparraaja is looking to advance position but Filho won't allow it. Sparraaja will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Sparraaja is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Filho has his hands on Sparraaja's head, controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sparraaja wants to pass the guard but Filho is keeping the position. Sparraajais looking to pass into half guard but Filho pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Filho is in guard. Sparraaja manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sparraaja moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Filho has worked his arm free - good work by Filho!
Filho tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sparraaja wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Filho wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Filho is looking to reverse the position. Filho sneaks out the side door and pushes Sparraaja away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. A nice inside leg kick there by Filho. That's going to slow Sparraaja down. Sparraaja is breathing heavily. Sparraaja uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Filho.
Sparraaja is trying hard to land a takedown here. Filho sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Sparraaja shoots in for a double leg but Filho sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Sparraaja tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Filho swivels and escapes. Filho scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Filho gets a clinch. Filho lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Filho gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Filho controlling the action here. Filho passes the guard and advances to mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sparraaja is in a horrible position here. Filho smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Filho takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Sparraaja keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Filho sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Sparraaja can't escape the position.
Sparraaja regains half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Filho prevents Sparraaja from improving his position. Filho landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paulo Filho dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Sparraaja fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Nice takedown defense from Filho. No joy for Sparraaja on that attempt. Filho misses the jab. Sparraaja changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Filho looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Filho is looking for a sweep. Sparraaja working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Sparraaja is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Filho is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The ground and pound from Sparraaja seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sparraaja tries to advance to mount but Filho instead regains half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Filho is trying is best to control the position here. Filho's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Sparraaja is looking for a kimura here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sparraaja tries to free his leg and advance position but Filho is retaining full guard. Sparraaja distracts Filho with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Filho not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Filho manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The referee warns Sparraaja that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Filho looking to finish Sparraaja with some ground and pound. This is bad for Sparraaja! Filho trying to control but he's not successful this time. Sparraaja is looking to improve his position but Filho isn't that keen on the idea. Filho controlling from the full mount. Sparraaja taking shots to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sparraaja really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Sparraaja bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Sparraaja with a flurry of punches that miss. Sparraaja wants to pass the guard but Filho is keeping the position. Filho controls Sparraaja momentarily but Sparraaja frees himself. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Filho strikes from his own guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Filho looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paulo Filho showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Sparraaja moves out of range as Filho strikes. Sparraaja shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Filho but Filho pushes him off and we're back to square one. Sparraaja has a takedown stuffed. Pertti Sparraaja is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Filho shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Sparraaja is working to get back to half guard.

Paulo Filho has got the better of the ground game so far. Sparraaja is looking to get back to full guard here but Filho has managed to pass to side control instead. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Filho jumps into side control! Sparraaja seems a little lost for a moment, as Filho dominates the positioning.

Filho is looking to take a break and control but Sparraaja is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Filho thuds his right hand into Sparraaja's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Sparraaja tries for a takedown but Filho circles away easily and Filho counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Filho. Paulo Filho is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pertti Sparraaja. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sparraaja tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Filho smiles and moves away.
Filho swings for the body but Sparraaja moves out of range.
Sparraaja closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Filho to the mat! Filho manages to get full guard. Filho lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sparraaja! Filho working the ground and pound effectively.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sparraaja is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Paulo Filho comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Filho has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
