Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Katt Strypare (ranked 5474 p4p, 3483 weight class) and Dustin Gold (ranked 278 p4p, 229 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Katt Strypare!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dustin Gold!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strypare shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gold as he jumps to the side.
Gold takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Gold scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Strypare tries to clinch up.
Strypare avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Gold misses the shot to the body.

Strypare scores with a takedown into Gold's guard.
Strypare pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gold is keeping the position for now.
Gold is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Strypare trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Strypare slips nicely into half guard.
Gold wants to get back to his feet.
Strypare is trying to control. Gold wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Strypare is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gold defends it well.

Strypare is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gold sees it coming and defends easily.
Strypare is nestled in close to Gold, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Strypare is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gold knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Strypare landing strikes from the mount and Gold is in trouble!
Strypare fails to advance to Gold's back.
Strypare can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gold is looking to escape.

Strypare has control of Gold's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gold regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Strypare is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Gold to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Gold shrugs it off.

Strypare is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Gold can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Gold really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Strypare. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gold is wriggling around trying to escape.
Gold wants to control but Strypare is having none of it.
Gold is squirming around, avoiding Strypare's attempts to control the action.
Strypare wants to take Gold's back here but Gold is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Gold is desperately trying to improve his position but Strypare has a good base and remains in mount.
Gold wants to hold on but Strypare pushes him away.
Strypare controlling the pace for now.
Strypare wants to control but Gold has made it back to half guard. Nice work.
Strypare moves nicely into side control.
Strypare wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gold keeps working.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gold is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Strypare has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Strypare tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Strypare has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Katt Strypare dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Gold smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Katt Strypare seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gold. Strypare does a little dance to reset his feet.
Strypare shoots for a double leg takedown but Gold sprawls well. He's pushed Strypare's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Strypare gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Gold counters with a left and a right that stings Strypare.

Gold cracks a nice hook into Strypare's ribs.
Gold's coach down at Ragnarok\'s Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gold's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Strypare walks into a left hand.
Gold moves away from the strike by Strypare.
Gold steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Strypare.
Strypare is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gold.
Strypare shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gold as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Katt Strypare. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gold connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Strypare momentarily.

Strypare darts in looking for a takedown but Gold gets double underhooks and turns Strypare into the cage.
Strypare tries to land a knee to the head but Gold blocks with his arms.
Strypare is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gold can do to turn this around?
Gold tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Strypare drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Gold gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Strypare pulls guard.
Gold controlling from the top position.
Gold wants to control from the top but Strypare keeps moving.
Gold tries to stand but Strypare is controlling from the bottom.

Strypare is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Gold frees his head nicely. Oh but Strypare has switched to an armbar! Gold is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
