Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Avila (ranked 4019 p4p, 4119 weight class) and Trevon Trujillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Trevon Trujillo!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Avila closes the distance and clinches.
Avila fails to pull guard.
Avila tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Trujillo smiles and moves away.

Trujillo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Avila is trying to defend but Trujillo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Avila is staying active underneath Trujillo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Trujillo stalling.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Avila is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Trujillo pulls his head out easily.

Trujillo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Avila defends it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Avila is looking for a sweep. Trujillo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Trujillo is looking for a kimura but Avila is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Trujillo to get the leverage.

Trujillo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Avila working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Trujillo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Trujillo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Trujillo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Trujillo slips a nice elbow through Avila's hands, connecting with Avila's forehead.
Trujillo looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Trevon Trujillo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Avila's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Trujillo stands up over Avila, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Avila has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Trujillo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Avila.

Trujillo connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Avila to escape the position.

Trujillo is looking for the choke from the back position but Avila is controlling his hands well.

Avila is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Trujillo cracks Avila with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Avila from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Trujillo has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Avila has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Trujillo is persistently looking for the submission but Avila is defending it well.

Trujillo is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Avila has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Avila covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Avila trying to control the position but Trujillo manages to sink in the hooks.
Avila rolls, trying to escape but Trujillo keeps control of the position.
Avila manages to reverse the position and now he's in Trujillo's guard. Nice work there by Avila.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Trujillo is trying to control the position but Avila postures up.
Miguel Avila has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Trevon Trujillo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Trujillo has control of Avila's left arm, preventing Avila from doing any damage.
