And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Wingers Son! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Wong gets a takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Wong (2) vs (0) Son Wong is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Son sees it coming and defends easily. Wong seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Son does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Son is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Son looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Son is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Wong pulls his head out easily.
