The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Drelas swats away the attempt to clinch by Mckay.
Drelas changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Mckay shoots in looking for a takedown. Drelas tries to sprawl out of it but Mckay keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Drelas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mckay misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Drelas drops down looking for a counter takedown but Mckay sprawls and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Drelas is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Mckay is surviving well by controlling Drelas's body position as best he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mckay is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Drelas is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mckay to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mckay shrugs it off.

Drelas working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Mckay turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Drelas off and cradles Mckay's limp body as Drelas celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Thervam Drelas!
