This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 14 wins and 11 losses; Dan Macker! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 28 wins and 17 losses; John McCain!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Eddie Farnsworth and Jorge Garcia.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

McCain closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Macker is pressed up against the cage. McCain has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Macker down to the mat. Macker avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Macker dives in for a single leg takedown but McCain sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Macker has picked McCain up - he's going for a ride! Macker dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

McCain has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

McCain wants to hold on but Macker pushes him away.

Macker is looking for a kimura but McCain is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Macker to get the leverage.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Macker in particular looking to stall.

Macker looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Macker wants to pass the guard but McCain is defending well.

McCain tries to lock up and control but Macker gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Macker is keen to just control but McCain is a slippery customer.

Macker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McCain's guard.

Macker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Macker is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

McCain keeping full guard, as Macker tries to pass.

McCain had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Macker defends it easily.
Macker engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

McCain wants to sweep here but Macker controlling him for the moment.

Macker stays in close to McCain's body and controls the position.
Macker advances to half guard.

McCain slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Macker slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

McCain is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
McCain is trying to get back to full guard.
Macker takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight!
Macker takes the fight on points by 16 to 2.
A relieved looking Dan Macker thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
