Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cyrus Deangelo Queen (ranked 948 p4p, 2176 weight class) and Mathieu David (ranked 128 p4p, 273 weight class). Queen comes into the arena with Go Hard blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
David slips under a jab.
David throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
David throws a series of punches but Queen avoids them all with ease.
Queen looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

David throws out a counter right but Queen avoids it with no problem.

and David counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Queen lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as David backs up against the cage.
David throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Queen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

David felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
