Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stephan Risi (ranked 5692 p4p, 5160 weight class) and Gage Hurt (ranked 524 p4p, 507 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Risi might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Where Rainbows Never Die - The Steeldrivers. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stephan Risi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gage Hurt! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hurt throws a hook but Risi blocks it. Hurt misses with a jab to the body
and Risi counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hurt thinking. Hurt throws a lazy uppercut
and Risi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Risi uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hurt. Hurt swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Risi slips under a jab from Hurt. And Risi counters with a quick kick to the body but Hurt blocks it. Hurt throws out a loose jab but Risi uses good head movement to avoid it. Hurt stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Risi. Risi stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Hurt throws a big shot that misses. Risi works Hurt's body with a nice hook. Hurt misses with a looping left. Risi scores with a shot to the body.
We've been told by Risi's head coaches at Final Mile that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A shot to the body from Hurt misses and Risi counters with a stiff right hand. Hurt uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Risi.
Hurt lands a jab. Gage Hurt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hurt waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Risi. A nice leg kick lands there from Risi. Hurt misses with a body shot.
It appears Risi was looking to counter with a kick there. Risi ducks under a wild hook from Hurt. Risi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Risi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Risi scores with a nice strike. Risi takes a shot right to the bread basket. Hurt throws a sloppy body shot
and Risi counters with a left and a right that stings Hurt. Risi scores with a hook to the body. Hurt takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Hurt takes one to the chin there. Hurt misses with a body shot.
Risi shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Risi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hurt misses with a straight right. Risi half committed to a counter leg kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hurt looks to score with a jab to the body but Risi is just out of range. Risi throws a body kick that misses. Nice defenses there by Risi. Risi lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Hurt on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Hurt misses with a body shot.
Hurt with a hook. Hurt thows a left - swing and a miss!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Risi lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hurt at a distance.
Risi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Hurt looks winded! Risi connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hurt's hands. Hurt tries to move into range but Risi moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Hurt misses with an uppercut
and Risi cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Hurt misses with an uppercut. Risi fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hurt. Hurt rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Risi counters with a body kick. Hurt swings for the body but Risi moves out of range.
Risi connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Hurt takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Hurt has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Risi. Risi scores with a jab. Risi lands with a cross. Risi just misses with a punch to the body.
Risi turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Hurt drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Risi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hurt misses with a hook. Risi ducked under it nicely. Risi lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Risi fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hurt has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Risi slips a straight right by Hurt. Risi is looking to counter with a body kick. That kick from Risi tenderised Hurt's leg. Hurt is trying to keep his angry face on. Risi lands a body shot.
Risi staying out of range there. It looked like Risi was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Hurt scores with a punch to the head. Hurt misses with an uppercut. Risi saw that one coming. Risi steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hurt. Risi changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Risi moves out of range of the strikes. Risi bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Risi smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hurt swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A low kick lands for Risi.
Hurt on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Risi goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Risi throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Hurt throws a lazy uppercut
and Hurt takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hurt is rocked! A combination from Risi does no damage. Hurt tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Risi was well out of range. Poor timing from Hurt. Risi throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hurt on the side of the head. Risi lands a left and a right that send Hurt crashing to the mat, dazed. Risi thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Hurt is still on wobbly legs! Can Risi finish him? Hurt throws a poor cross that misses
and Risi counters with a nice body shot. Risi stuns Hurt with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Hurt takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Hurt get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Hurt stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Risi runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Stephan Risi! As Stephan Risi got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: I'm here for my family. For my wife. For my daughter. To give them as good a life as I can. So long as I'm here, I'll spill whatever blood makes that happen. They fuel me, and this is for them.'.
