Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roman Reyes (ranked 2004 p4p, 2591 weight class) and George Pierre (ranked 87 p4p, 121 weight class). Reyes comes to the cage accompanied by Zack Hemsey - Vengeance. Pierre comes into a darkened arena with his song building. O Canada kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! George Pierre told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roman Reyes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Pierre! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, John Mangel and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pierre takes one to the side of the head.
Reyes throws out a powerful jab. Pierre ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Reyes misses with a head kick.
Pierre closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pierre lands in his opponent's guard. Pierre cracks Reyes with a solid left hand. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pierre accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Pierre must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Reyes looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Pierre scoring with some ground and pound. Pierre postures up in Reyes's guard and throws a big left but Reyes blocks it. Pierre landing some decent shots from guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pierre is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Pierre lands a couple of decent looking shots. Pierre throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Reyes works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Pierre loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Pierre with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre scoring with punches to the head and body. Pierre working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Pierre working some strikes from top position. Pierre postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Pierre throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Reyes works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Pierre stops Reyes from standing up. Pierre works over Reyes with some ground and pound from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reyes is looking to stand up but Pierre isn't so interested in that idea. Pierre is looking to work some ground and pound but Reyes has wrist control.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Reyes misses with a few strikes there.
Reyes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Reyes loads up on a big right hand but Pierre slips the punch. Pierre instigates a clinch. Our sources have told us that Reyes has been working on his elbows in the gym. Pierre has Reyes pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Reyes manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Pierre has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Reyes is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Reyes tries to land a knee to the head but Pierre blocks with his arms.
Pierre tries to score a body lock takedown but Reyes shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Roman Reyes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Pierre.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reyes throws a knee to the head but misses.

Pierre drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Reyes gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Pierre has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Reyes avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Reyes tries to land knees in the clinch but Pierre avoids the damage to the body. Reyes missing with knees to the body.

Reyes is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Pierre presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pierre drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Reyes is pressed up against the cage. Pierre has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Reyes down to the mat. Reyes avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Pierre misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nice body kick from Reyes. A swing and a miss from Reyes. Pierre misses with a takedown attempt - Reyes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Pierre takes one to the chin there. Pierre drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Reyes sneaks out the side door and pushes Pierre away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pierre shoots in for a takedown but Reyes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Reyes throws a shot from downtown. Pierre moves away and avoids it. Pierre has a takedown stuffed. A little feinted left hand from Reyes on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Pierre takes a swing at Reyes's ribcage but misses. Pierre on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Reyes scores with a spinning back kick! Pierre tries to move into range but Reyes moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Pierre moves out of range as Reyes strikes. Reyes jabbing away but nothing is landing. Pierre tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Reyes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Pierre tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Pierre connects with a single shot there. Reyes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Pierre! But no joy. Pierre connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Roman Reyes dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Jab from Reyes. Pierre tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Reyes paws at him with a jab and circles away. Reyes appears to be looking for a big counter. Pierre tries to bum rush Reyes with a series of wild strikes but Reyes uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Pierre takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Pierre shoots in and drives through. Reyes sprawls well. Pierre missing with a left hand there. Reyes was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Reyes is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Reyes takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Pierre throws a body shot but no joy. An attempted straight right counter from Reyes misses the target. Reyes misses with a right hand and Pierre makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Pierre dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A swing and a miss from Reyes. Pierre feints and as Reyes raises his hands in defense, Pierre changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pierre connects with a couple of short punches.
Reyes is rocked! Pierre is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Oh Reyes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Pierre stands up over Reyes, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Pierre cracks Reyes with a solid left hand. Pierre with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Pierre arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Reyes's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). George Pierre! Our winner, George Pierre, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
