The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malick scores with a body shot.
Howell with a lazy takedown attempt
and Malick cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Malick gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A shot in the inside from Malick.
Howell drops down looking for an ankle pick but Malick pulls his leg out and moves away.
Howell has his takedown stuffed
and Malick counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Morton Malick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Amari Howell.

Howell shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Malick napping and manages to drive through into side control!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Howell has hold of Malick's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Malick tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Howell cranks the arm and Malick screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Malick, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
