Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Erwin Smith (ranked 3515 p4p, 2868 weight class) and Dong Hyun Kim (ranked 366 p4p, 309 weight class). Kim is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Danza Kuduro. Dong Hyun Kim is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Erwin Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dong Hyun Kim! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith lands with a nice body punch. Dong Hyun Kim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smith looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Kim throws a lazy body kick and Kim takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Smith will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kim drives through and clinches with Smith against the cage.
Kim drops down looking for an ankle pick but Smith pulls his leg out and moves away.
Smith tries to clinch there but Kim circles away.
Kim tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance. Smith throwing a counter right hand but Kim manages to avoid it. Smith lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Dong Hyun Kim has been cut. Kim closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Kim has hold of one of Smith's legs. Smith is fighting the takedown attempt but Kim gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Smith is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Smith wants to stand and escape but Kim is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kim wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving. Kim is looking to work some ground and pound but Smith has wrist control. Kim drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kim jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Smith tries to strike from the bottom.
Kim wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Kim has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Smith is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kim throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Smith works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kim slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Kim trying to control the position but Smith is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kim scores with a couple of short elbows. Kim is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Smith is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Smith is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kim is controlling him well. Sloppy strikes there by Kim. A lull in the action here as Kim stalls from top position. Smith managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Kim.
Kim is looking to take a break and control but Smith is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Smith on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Smith tries to get out of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kim working away. Kim trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom. Kim is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Kim lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Kim lands some shots froms side control. Kim looks up at the clock and then as Smith takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kim smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Kim advances to full mount. We've been informed that Kim has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Kim working Smith over with strikes here.
Smith is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Kim's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
