PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alec Harvey (ranked 3037 p4p, 2244 weight class) and Clay Hayden (ranked 329 p4p, 253 weight class). Harvey kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME - Choke. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayden swings for the body but Harvey moves out of range.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hayden has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Hayden does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
A quick step to the side and Harvey tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Harvey throws his legs up looking for a submission but Hayden uses it to pass to side control.

Harvey is trying to get back to half guard.

Hayden working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Hayden looks up at the clock and then as Harvey takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hayden smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Hayden wants to control but Harvey is keeping him busy.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hayden cracks Harvey with a big right hand but Harvey just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
You can see the frustration on Harvey's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Harvey enables Hayden to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Harvey manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Hayden content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Harvey has locked up a guillotine! Harvey's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Hayden is holding on here and Harvey must be using up a lot of energy. Hayden has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Harvey gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
