The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liu shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Howell counters with a nice double leg into side control. Liu won't be happy with that.
Howell is chipping away with strikes.
Howell lands a decent elbow from side control.
Howell working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Liu takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Liu is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Howell advances to full mount.
Howell has control of Liu's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Liu regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Liu is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Howell lands a nice shot to the head.
Howell is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Howell!
