Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
del Mexico tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mir swivels and escapes.
Mir darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Mir stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. del Mexico swivels though and keeps the full guard.

del Mexico escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mir gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mir postures up in del Mexico's guard and throws a big left but del Mexico blocks it.
Mir looking to sit in guard and control but del Mexico gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Mir looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
del Mexico shoots in but Mir avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Mir moves in looking to clinch but del Mexico pushes him off.
Mir throws a series of punches but del Mexico avoids them all with ease.

del Mexico pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Mir really doesn't want to stay on the ground with del Mexico. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
del Mexico is going olschool here, as he tries to force Mir to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mir shrugs it off.
del Mexico breaks from Mir's wrist control and lands an elbow.

del Mexico is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mir can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

del Mexico with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Mir tries to hold on but del Mexico pushes him away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
