Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave McKenna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ding Dong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dave McKenna!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ding Dong!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dong shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dave McKenna seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McKenna gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Dong counters with a takedown into side control.
An elbow from Dong crashes against the mat.

Dong thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

McKenna is trying to get back to half guard.
McKenna is working hard here to advance position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McKenna wants to control but Dong postures up.
Dong throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Dong tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dong has a takedown stuffed.

McKenna darts in trying to clinch

and Dong moves into the clinch.
McKenna tries to pull guard but Dong holds him up against the cage and eventually McKenna drops back down to his feet.

Dave McKenna has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ding Dong.
Dong lands a shoulder strike.
McKenna wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
McKenna is looking to break free of the clinch but Dong has double underhooks.
Dong drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McKenna is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dong is struggling to control the position.
McKenna gets underhooks to prevent Dong's takedown attempt.
Dong looks gassed!

Dong lands a takedown into guard.
McKenna is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

McKenna looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Dong postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

McKenna wriggles free and stands up.
McKenna clinches but Dong breaks the clinch

and Dong counters with a shoot takedown. McKenna fights it but they end up in guard.
McKenna is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Dong is looking to stand up but McKenna won't let him.
Dong throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McKenna works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Dong drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and McKenna dives on top into guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
McKenna slips nicely into half guard.
Dong gets full guard.
McKenna pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dong is keeping the position for now.
McKenna trying to control the position from guard on top but Dong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McKenna would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
McKenna trying to control but Dong is working from the bottom.

McKenna stuffs the takedown attempt from Dong. Dong gets slowly back to his feet.
McKenna cracks a nice hook into Dong's ribs.
Dong takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Dong throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Dong gets the takedown into side control.

Dong goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, McKenna has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dong but great work by McKenna.
McKenna wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dong keeps working.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dong is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, McKenna asserts his dominance and retains side control.
McKenna wants to control but Dong is keeping him busy.
Dong wants to get back to his feet.
Dong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McKenna. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McKenna tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Dong tries to clinch but McKenna moves out of range.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McKenna swats away the attempt to clinch by Dong.
Dong tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McKenna closes the distance looking to clinch

and Dong counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dong.
Dong throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McKenna works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Dong throwing strikes but missing.
McKenna is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Dong wants to control but McKenna is keeping busy and won't allow it.

McKenna is trying to control the action in half guard but Dong is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Dong is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Dong slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Dong looking to hit a scissor sweep but McKenna is one step ahead there.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
McKenna tries to clinch up

and Dong counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dong.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dong successfully pulls guard.
McKenna is standing up over Dong. Dong looks to escape but McKenna dives into side control.
Dong is trying to get back to half guard.
McKenna wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dong keeps working.
Dong is trying to get back to half guard.

McKenna stands up and we're back to a striking position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ding Dong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! McKenna's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

McKenna clinches but Dong breaks the clinch

so Dong counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Dong wants to get up but he can't break McKenna's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Dong missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
McKenna wants to sweep but no luck.
Dong postures up in McKenna's guard and throws a big left but McKenna blocks it.

Dong must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Dong gets to his feet - McKenna follows without any prompting.
McKenna misses with a double jab

and Dong counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in McKenna's guard now.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

McKenna keeping moving, preventing Dong from controlling successfully.
Dong trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now McKenna is on top in guard.
Dong wants to hit a switch here but McKenna passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Dong there!
Dong throwing hammer fists to the chest of McKenna. What's that going to do exactly?
Ding Dong is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dong tries to hold on but McKenna postures up.
McKenna trying to control but Dong is having none of it.
Dong really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
McKenna controlling the position easily from mount.

McKenna moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Dong has worked his arm free - good work by Dong!

Dong holding on.
McKenna wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dong keeps working.
Ding Dong has got the better of the ground game so far.
What's Dong going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Dong struggling a bit here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Dong throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Dong tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McKenna wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
McKenna in side control, throwing shots but Dong defends.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Dong fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. McKenna sprawls well initially but Dong persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Dong is stalling here. McKenna is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dong seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and McKenna has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
You can see the frustration on Dong's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ding Dong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Dong winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
