Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lee Murray (ranked 1102 p4p, 2000 weight class) and Frank Whitaker (ranked 138 p4p, 225 weight class). Frank Whitaker struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lee Murray ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Whitaker! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whitaker just misses with a punch to the body.
Whitaker rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Murray makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Whitaker throws the left hand but Murray avoids the punch easily. Whitaker throws an overhand right that lands on Murray 's shoulder, as Murray tries to avoid the shot. Murray steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Whitaker. Murray displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Whitaker throws out the jab. And Murray counters with a quick kick to the body but Whitaker blocks it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Whitaker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Murray was well out of range. Poor timing from Whitaker. Murray thinks about countering with a body kick. Whitaker throws an overhand right that lands on Murray 's shoulder, as Murray tries to avoid the shot. A little feinted left hand from Murray on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Whitaker lands a jab to the head.
It looks like Lee Murray has been cut.

and Murray counters with a thumping low kick. Whitaker misses with a right hand and Murray counters with a straight right hand. We've been told by Murray 's head coaches at Casa Steel that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. A slow jab from Whitaker misses its intended target. Whitaker misses with a hook to the body
and Murray counters with a stiff right hand. Whitaker throws a hook but Murray avoids it easily. Murray throwing a counter right hand but Whitaker manages to avoid it. Whitaker throws a lazy right hand but Murray sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Murray appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Whitaker misses with a wild combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Whitaker fails to land with a series of punches.
Whitaker misses the jab. Whitaker looks to land a left hand but Murray moved out of range nicely. Whitaker swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Murray counters with a left to the body. Whitaker looks to land a combination but Murray avoids it well. Whitaker takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Whitaker misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Murray .

and Murray connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Whitaker swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Whitaker misses with a right hand and Murray finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Murray uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Whitaker. Murray jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Whitaker misses with a left hand and Murray counters with a nice low kick that buckles Whitaker's knee momentarily. Whitaker looks winded! Whitaker misses with an uppercut. Murray saw that one coming. Murray swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Whitaker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Whitaker misses with a left hand and Murray counters with a slapping leg kick. Murray bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Murray ducks under a wild hook from Whitaker. Whitaker throws an off balance right hand
and Murray counters with a crisp one two that drops Whitaker! Murray thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Whitaker to his feet! Whitaker is in big trouble!
Whitaker is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Whitaker punishes Murray 's body with a nice straight punch. Whitaker is still on wobbly legs! Can Murray finish him? Whitaker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Whitaker seems to have recovered his senses. Murray ducks under a wild hook from Whitaker. Murray appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Whitaker swings widly with a right hand
and Murray cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Whitaker dominated that round. The cut man is working on Lee Murray 's cut. That's time! Murray 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Whitaker misses with an uppercut. Murray saw that one coming. Whitaker throws a big shot that misses. Murray throws a quick counter kick to the body but Whitaker avoids it. Whitaker uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Whitaker misses with a shot to the body and Murray counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Whitaker thinking. A combination from Whitaker does no damage. Murray throwing a counter right hand but Whitaker manages to avoid it. A slow jab from Whitaker misses its intended target. and Murray counters with a perfectly timed head kick, knocking Whitaker out cold! Wow, that took some serious skill and not a little luck! Murray is taking it in his stride though, strolling around like it's no big deal. What a guy.
