Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Hardman (ranked 1864 p4p, 1561 weight class) and Freaky George (ranked 135 p4p, 118 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bruce Hardman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Freaky George!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts George as he jumps to the side.
Nice defenses there by Hardman.
Hardman appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Hardman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hardman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by George.
George looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hardman shoots in but no luck this time.
Hardman lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
George misses with a wild body shot.
A shot to the liver by George. Beautiful body shot.
George throws the left hand but Hardman avoids the punch easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
George throws a lazy right hand but Hardman sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hardman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A momentary lapse in concentration from George enables Hardman to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. George manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Hardman won't allow George to get back to his feet.

Hardman drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but George manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hardman has George in his guard.


That's one minute gone in the round.
Hardman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hardman looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Hardman working for a triangle but George defends it easily.
George engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
George is looking to stand up but Hardman won't let him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Hardman looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hardman is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hardman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
George stays in close to Hardman's body and controls the position.

Hardman pushes a forearm under George's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, George is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Bruce Hardman!
