Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Serwacy Smolarek (ranked 1253 p4p, 2034 weight class) and Kenji Takahashi (ranked 155 p4p, 223 weight class). Smolarek comes to the cage accompanied by No Easy Way Out. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Serwacy Smolarek! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kenji Takahashi! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takahashi tries to bum rush Smolarek with a series of wild strikes but Smolarek uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Kenji Takahashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Takahashi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown enabling Smolarek to counter with a crisp jab. Smolarek connects with the punch. Takahashi is looking to score with low kicks. Takahashi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Smolarek throws a shot from downtown. Takahashi moves away and avoids it. Smolarek thows a left - swing and a miss! Takahashi tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Takahashi has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Nice cross by Smolarek. We've been told by Smolarek's head coaches at Gold Samurai's Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Takahashi tries to score with a low kick but Smolarek moves his leg out of the way. Smolarek connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Smolarek misses with an uppercut. Takahashi appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Smolarek looks to throw the jab but Takahashi is out of range. Takahashi fails miserably with a takedown attempt. This has been an exciting period of action! Smolarek bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Takahashi's head backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takahashi walks straight into a right hand from Smolarek - that's dropped him! Smolarek jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Takahashi from any more punishment! Takahashi complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Serwacy Smolarek!
