Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stu Pendous!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Jacobs!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Igor Prikhodko and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pendous connects with a looping right hand.

It looks like Ron Jacobs has been cut.
Jacobs throws a head kick that misses.
Jacobs tries for a takedown but Pendous circles away easily
and Pendous counters with a nice uppercut.

Jacobs pushes Pendous up against the cage in a clinch.
Pendous keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jacobs's efforts to push away.
Jacobs drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pendous gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A nice right hand lands inside from Pendous.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jacobs gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Jacobs is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pendous doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jacobs.

Pendous trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Jacobs misses with a takedown

Stu Pendous has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ron Jacobs.
Jacobs shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pendous but Pendous pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Pendous swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Jacobs shoots for a double leg takedown but Pendous sprawls well. He's pushed Jacobs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A quick step to the side and Pendous tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pendous stuffs the takedown.
Jacobs swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pendous counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Jacobs misses with a takedown
and Pendous counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Pendous counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Pendous lands a slapping body shot.

Jacobs shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pendous manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Jacobs prevents Pendous from getting back to his feet.
Jacobs trying to move into half guard but instead Pendous has managed to sweep!

Jacobs looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pendous is one step ahead there.
Pendous pushes down on Jacobs's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Pendous tries to stand but can't do so whilst Jacobs controls his leg.

Pendous stands up from half guard.
Pendous stuffs the takedown.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jacobs slips a jab from Pendous.
Pendous throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pendous fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jacobs looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Pendous shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Pendous backing away here, and Jacobs unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Jacobs fails with the takedown

Pendous lands with an uppercut that bounces Jacobs off the cage and back into range.
Jacobs darts in trying to clinch
and Pendous counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jacobs thinking.

Jacobs manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Pendous on his heels. He'll look to pass Pendous's guard now, I'm sure.

enabling Pendous to counter with a crisp jab.

That has opened up Ron Jacobs's cut even more.
Pendous just misses with a punch to the body.
Pendous misses with a looping left.
Stu Pendous is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jacobs wants to clinch.

and Pendous counters with a right hand to the body.
Jacobs gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Jacobs takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pendous scores with a jab to the body.
Pendous lands a nice shot that snaps Jacobs's head back.
Jacobs has his takedown stuffed
and Pendous counters with a crisp right that sends Jacobs to the canvas! Pendous follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
