Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Skyler Gibson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michal Materla!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Daniel Bishop and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Materla's corner calls for a 1-2. Materla obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Gibson swats away the attempt to clinch by Materla.
Gibson wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Materla shoots in looking for a takedown. Gibson tries to sprawl out of it but Materla keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gibson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gibson changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Materla throws a lazy head kick
and Gibson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Materla won't be happy with that.
Gibson scoring with punches and elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gibson happy to just control the position for now.
Gibson lands a decent elbow from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gibson cracks Materla with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Materla is working to avoid the ground and pound but Gibson connects with a decent elbow.
A lull in the action here as Gibson stalls from top position.
Gibson lands a nice forearm strike.
Gibson controls the position.
Materla gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Gibson is controlling the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gibson uses his free foot to push down on Materla's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Materla.
Gibson looking to control and managing it successfully.
Gibson continues to stall.

Gibson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Materla can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Materla is in a horrible position here. Gibson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Gibson loads up with a big shot that hurts Materla! He's pulled Gibson in close but Gibson has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Materla survive? More strikes from Gibson and Materla is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
