Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hands Norseson (ranked 2467 p4p, 3228 weight class) and Salvador Jimenez (ranked 177 p4p, 225 weight class). The key to victory for Hands Norseson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hands Norseson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Salvador Jimenez!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jimenez shoots in and gets a takedown into Norseson's guard.
Norseson is looking to stand back up but Jimenez counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Norseson.

Jimenez works his way into side control.
Jimenez tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
The ground and pound from Jimenez seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Jimenez controls the position.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Jimenez working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jimenez looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Norseson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jimenez on the ground.

Norseson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
You can see the frustration on Norseson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jimenez is staying tight to Norseson's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
You can see the frustration on Norseson's face as Jimenez controls the position.
Norseson is trying to control Jimenez's posture but Jimenez avoids it.
Jimenez slows the pace down.

Jimenez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Norseson has escaped the position, nice work there.
Norseson managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Jimenez.

Jimenez landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Norseson dodges the ground and pound from Jimenez.
Norseson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jimenez is controlling him well.
Jimenez remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Norseson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jimenez's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Jimenez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Norseson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Jimenez is controlling the pace.

Jimenez maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Norseson could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Jimenez has cracked it and Norseson is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Jimenez!

After winning the bout, Salvador Jimenez thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
