Griggs comes to the cage accompanied by Here Comes the Boom- Nelly. Vinny Griggs could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Zane Yardow's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yardow lands a jab to the nose.
Yardow tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
It looked like Griggs wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Griggs with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Yardow to score with a decent uppercut.
Yardow misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Yardow wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Griggs throwing a counter right hand but Yardow manages to avoid it.
Yardow throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The fighters circle momentarily. Yardow darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Yardow lands with an uppercut that bounces Griggs off the cage and back into range.

Yardow fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Zane Yardow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yardow gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Yardow swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Griggs can't break the clinch.
Yardow lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Griggs backwards.

Griggs is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Yardow tries to throw a body punch but Griggs avoids it by throwing Yardow back against the cage.
Griggs definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Griggs's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Yardow digs a right hand into Griggs's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Griggs's gas tank.

Yardow keeps control of Griggs as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Yardow swings wildly with an uppercut but Griggs uses good head movement to avoid it.

Griggs wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Yardow has him pressed against the cage.
Yardow has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Griggs seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Yardow can turn it around.

Yardow throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Yardow works the jab nicely.
Griggs doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Griggs ducks right into an uppercut from Yardow.

Oooooh!!! Yardow has knocked Griggs down with a huge combo! Yardow steps away and waves a wobbly Griggs back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Griggs is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Yardow cracks Griggs on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Griggs falls backwards against the cage. Yardow follows up with more strikes that drop Griggs to his knees. Yardow keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Griggs! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zane Yardow!
A relieved looking Zane Yardow thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
