Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Banderleii Showgun (ranked 3748 p4p, 3066 weight class) and Nick Mullen (ranked 440 p4p, 371 weight class). Showgun comes to the cage accompanied by Sandstorm. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Banderleii Showgun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nick Mullen!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Darius Henderson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Showgun darts in trying to clinch

and Mullen counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Showgun!
Mullen controlling the position from side mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Showgun is looking to get back to his feet here but Mullen is keeping cool and he's managed to take Showgun's back.
Mullen keeps control of the position easily here as Showgun tries to buck him off.

Mullen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Showgun trying to get back to his feet but Mullen is in full control for now.
Good control from Mullen.
Our spies down at at 23.5 Hour Fitness inform us that Mullen has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Showgun is trying to stand back up.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Showgun is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Mullen.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
It looks like Mullen might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Showgun is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Mullen dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mullen avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mullen is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Mullen gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mullen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Showgun smiles and moves away.
Mullen takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Nick Mullen has been cut.
Mullen moves forwards but Showgun connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Showgun tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Mullen shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Mullen not doing much here.

Mullen is looking to advance position but Showgun won't allow it.
Showgun is trying to stand back up but Mullen is controlling him

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mullen is controlling the pace.
Mullen tries to pass to full mount but Showgun defends it.
Mullen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Showgun looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Showgun tries to clinch but Mullen moves away

and Mullen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Mullen controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Showgun wants to stand up but Mullen is controlling him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mullen looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Nick Mullen will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The cut man is working on Nick Mullen's cut.
That's time! Showgun's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Mullen avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Showgun misses with a combination

and Mullen counters with a nice double leg into side control. Showgun won't be happy with that.
Mullen advances to full mount.
Mullen controlling from mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
You get the feeling that Showgun really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Mullen is continuing to stall.
Mullen forces the positional change into back control.

I would not like to be Showgun right now.
Banderleii Showgun has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The adventures of Mullen the control monster continue. Boring.

Let's hope that Mullen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Nick Mullen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Mullen is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Nick Mullen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Mullen winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
