And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Diamond.
A punch lands to the side of Perez 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Diamond throws a nice inside leg kick.
Diamond doesn't manage to clinch there - Perez circles away.

Diamond connects with a good right hand that stumbles Perez. Perez circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Diamond throws a combination. Perez tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Diamond moves into range and connects with a jab.
Perez's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Diamond connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Perez scrambles back to his feet.
Ace Diamond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Perez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Diamond uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Perez has time to react.

Perez takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Perez looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Oh Perez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Diamond lands a big uppercut and Perez crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Perez looks OK. Diamond waves Perez back to his feet!
Perez tries a head kick but it misses.
Diamond feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Perez sprawling to the canvas! Perez rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Diamond finish him?!
Perez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Diamond sprawls well. Diamond wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Perez gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Perez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Diamond turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Perez. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Diamond feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Perezs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Perez shoots for a double leg takedown but Diamond sprawls well. He's pushed Perez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

A low kick lands for Diamond.
Perez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Diamond's waist but Diamond gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Perez off to one side.

After the fight, Ace Diamond was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
