The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mazomedov tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Strijk defends well and Mazomedov ends up having to push Strijk into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Mazomedov drags the fight down to the ground.
Strijk won't allow Mazomedov to sweep him here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mazomedov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mazomedov is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Strijk has his hands clasped together but Mazomedov extends and breaks Strijk's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Mazomedov.
