Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Beckwitz Jugges (ranked 4342 p4p, 4374 weight class) and James La Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James La Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jugges gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jugges knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for La Cruz on the ground.

La Cruz is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jugges can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

La Cruz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Let's hope that La Cruz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Jugges is looking to improve his position but La Cruz isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

La Cruz seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for La Cruz. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Jugges is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

La Cruz shoots in looking for a takedown but Jugges manages to keep the fight standing, pushing La Cruz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

La Cruz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

A head punch on the inside from Jugges fails to land.
Jugges is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Jugges wants to get back to striking at distance but La Cruz won't allow it.

Jugges swings wildly with an uppercut but La Cruz uses good head movement to avoid it.
La Cruz wants to take the fight to the mat but Jugges manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
