This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 22 wins and 31 losses; Gaston Juncker! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 60 wins and 37 losses; Jackson Ramirez! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Glass and Sam Margolis.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Juncker shoots in looking for a takedown but Ramirez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Juncker's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Ramirez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Juncker (0) vs (2) Ramirez Juncker is trying to control but Ramirez manages to pass to mount!
Score +3 for passing guard: Juncker (0) vs (5) Ramirez Juncker is looking to get to half guard. Juncker stops Ramirez from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ramirez controlling his opponent. Juncker is squirming around, avoiding Ramirez's attempts to control the action.

Juncker is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at House of 1000 Corpse, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Juncker working to try and regain half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Juncker is desperately trying to improve his position but Ramirez has a good base and remains in mount. Ramirez looking to control and managing it successfully. Ramirez prevents Juncker from getting the reversal. Juncker wants to control but Ramirez is having none of it. My spies in KFA inform me that Ramirez has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Ramirez controlling from the full mount.

The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Juncker tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Juncker sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Still in half guard, Ramirez seems content to control. It looks like Ramirez might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Let's hope that Ramirez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. Juncker is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Ramirez tries to roll over but Juncker keeps him under control. Ramirez wants to control but Juncker is keeping busy and won't allow it.

He's pushing on Juncker's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Juncker wants to free his trapped foot but Ramirez is holding on for dear life with his legs. Juncker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ramirez keeps working.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Juncker is looking to advance position but Ramirez has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Ramirez is thwarting Juncker's attempts to control the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Juncker is looking for a sweep. Ramirez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
