This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 30 wins and 39 losses; Anthony Lavicci! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 58 wins and 36 losses; Jackson Ramirez! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Phil Schofield and James Atkins.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Excellent takedown into side control there by Lavicci. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Lavicci (4) vs (0) Ramirez Ramirez prevents Lavicci from moving into mount. Ramirez holds on to Lavicci's head and controls the position momentarily. Ramirez is being controlled here. Ramirez wants to control but Lavicci postures up. Lavicci trying to control the action but Ramirez is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ramirez is looking for a sweep.

Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Lavicci (15) vs (2) Ramirez Lavicci looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Lavicci has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Ramirez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Lavicci is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
