PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bernardo Cabral (ranked 2266 p4p, 2586 weight class) and Mateusz Kieliszkowski (ranked 274 p4p, 307 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bernardo Cabral!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mateusz Kieliszkowski!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kieliszkowski with a lazy takedown attempt

and Cabral counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Kieliszkowski!
Cabral wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kieliszkowski keeps working.
Kieliszkowski tries to buck Cabral off but Cabral is having none of it.
Kieliszkowski manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Cabral wants to control but Kieliszkowski is keeping busy.

Kieliszkowski is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cabral defends it well.

Cabral sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Kieliszkowski throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cabral was covering up waiting for the punch and Kieliszkowski finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Cabral has his foot on Kieliszkowski's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kieliszkowski works his way back into a safe position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Kieliszkowski displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cabral.
Cabral stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cabral wants it to stay on the feet.
Kieliszkowski tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cabral sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kieliszkowski somewhat.
Kieliszkowski goes for a double leg but Cabral avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cabral continues to drive forward.

Kieliszkowski shoots in looking for a takedown but Cabral manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kieliszkowski's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Cabral closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kieliszkowski did well to prevent Cabral getting side control.

Cabral will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
