The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Kamenev moves into the clinch. Kamenev gets control of Sulvar's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kamenev will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Sulvar pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kamenev is keeping the position for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kamenev is looking for a triangle but Sulvar pushes his legs off easily.

Kamenev wants to hold on but Sulvar pushes him away. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Sulvar can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kamenev is looking to escape. Kamenev really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Sulvar controlling from mount. Kamenev wants to control but Sulvar is having none of it. Kamenev is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Convicted Top Team, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Kamenev regains half guard. Sulvar trying to mount his opponent but Kamenev defends it.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. Sulvar is taking a breather. Kamenev says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Sulvar is looking to pass Kamenev's guard but actually Kamenev recovers to full guard. Sulvar forces his way into half guard.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Sulvar takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Sulvar tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kamenev knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Sulvar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kamenev keeps working. Kamenev looking for submissions off his back. Kamenev looking for subs from the bottom but Sulvar mounts him! Score +3 for passing guard: Kamenev (0) vs (9) Sulvar
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Kamenev tries to lock up and control but Sulvar gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Kamenev is controlling an arm, preventing Sulvar from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Sulvar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Sulvar.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Sulvar's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Sulvar trying to control but Kamenev is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Sulvar wins on points by 9 to 0. After winning the bout, Tres Sulvar thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility. |
