The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wellington keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Wellington throws a low kick but Rules moves out of range easily.
Rules throws a right hand that misses
and Wellington counters with a nice body shot.
Rules drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Rules wants to control from the top but Wellington keeps moving.
Rules trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Wellington bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rules's guard.
Rules is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Rules has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wellington can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Wellington wants to pass the guard but Rules is keeping the position.

Wellington is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Rules thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Rules is looking to take a break and control but Wellington is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
