Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 31 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Edmonds!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 40 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Golles!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Golles misses with an uppercut.
Golles darts in trying to clinch
and Edmonds counters with a stiff right hand.
Golles tries to clinch up.
Edmonds uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Golles has time to react.
Golles throws a lazy uppercut
and Edmonds connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Golles swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Edmonds lands a jab to the head.
Edmonds cracks Golles with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Edmonds connects with a body shot that sends Golles's belly button to the back.
Edmonds with the inside leg kick.
Golles throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Golles takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Golles misses with a right hand
and Edmonds connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Edmonds scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Edmonds scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Golles misses with a kick to the body
and Edmonds decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Golles's guard.
Edmonds drops back looking for a leg! Golles is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Golles manages to kick Edmonds off! Edmonds jumps back into Golles's guard.
Edmonds passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Edmonds moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Edmonds's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Edmonds has an Americana. Golles didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Edmonds is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Edmonds hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
