PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Doko Dokov (ranked 3578 p4p, 2455 weight class) and Jackie Chan (ranked 368 p4p, 277 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 48 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doko Dokov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Jackie Chan!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chan finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Dokov rushes Chan and presses him up against the cage.

Chan turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Chan manages to end up in side control.
Dokov is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Chan blocks the strikes from Dokov.

Dokov throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Dokov lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Chan backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chan dodges an elbow strike from Dokov.

Chan gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dokov is doing well to control the position and prevent Chan from advancing to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dokov tries to kick Chan off but Chan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Chan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dokov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Dokov misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Dokov wants to get back to his feet.
Chan is stalling here. Dokov is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Chan seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Dokov has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Chan reaches up around Dokov's neck trying to control. But Dokov takes advantage instantly and he's locked on an arm triangle! Big trouble for Chan! Oh that looks nasty! A human being's head is not meant to turn that color! Chan is out! He's gone limp! The ref steps in to break the fighters up and Dokov celebrates the victory with the fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Doko Dokov!
