Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Casimiro Nicoletta (ranked 759 p4p, 777 weight class) and Shape Shifter (ranked 119 p4p, 121 weight class). Nicoletta's entrance music is For Once In My Life. A fine choice. On his way into the cage it seems that Casimiro Nicoletta has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Casimiro Nicoletta seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shifter takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
A punch lands to the side of Shifter 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Nicoletta lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Nicoletta cracks Shifter with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Nicoletta has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Shifter to stand back up!

Shifter is rocked!
Nicoletta has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nicoletta misses with a leg kick

and Shifter counters with a shoot takedown. Nicoletta fights it but they end up in guard.

Nicoletta has his feet on Shifter's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Shifter tries to clinch up.
Shifter goes for a double leg but Nicoletta avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Nicoletta continues to drive forward.
Nicoletta throws a hook to the side of Shifter's head but Shifter sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Shifter keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Nicoletta.
Nicoletta keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Shifter tries to clinch up but Nicoletta circles away and keeps his distance.
Nicoletta fires out a quick counter leg kick but Shifter just manages to avoid it.
Shifter uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Nicoletta.

Nicoletta moves into the clinch.
Nicoletta works on Shifter's body with a couple of short punches.
Nicoletta misses with the head strike.
Nicoletta stops a takedown attempt from Shifter.
Casimiro Nicoletta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shape Shifter.

Nicoletta pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Nicoletta closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Shifter has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Nicoletta regains guard immediately.
Shifter trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Nicoletta is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Shifter throws a big elbow that misses.
Shifter is looking to work some ground and pound but Nicoletta has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shifter drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Nicoletta dives on top into guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Shifter is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Nicoletta got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shifter has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nicoletta has managed to get both his arms back between Shifter's legs - danger averted.

Shifter is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nicoletta defends well.

Shifter looking for subs off his back but Nicoletta has passed one foot through into half guard.

Shifter has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Nicoletta escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Nicoletta!
Shifter is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Shifter fails to pull guard.
Shifter goes for a takedown in the clinch but Nicoletta prevents it.

Shifter gets control of Nicoletta's arms and successfully pulls guard. Shifter will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Shifter wants to sweep here but Nicoletta controlling him for the moment.

Shifter throws his legs up looking for a submission but Nicoletta uses it to pass to side control.
Shifter is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nicoletta misses with a low kick.
Shifter tries to counter with a clinch but Nicoletta shakes him off and moves away.

Nicoletta sends Shifter crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Nicoletta is motioning to the referee to let Shifter up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Shifter is still on wobbly legs! Can Nicoletta finish him?
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Shifter gets a takedown into half guard.
Shifter seems to have recovered his senses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shifter is looking for a kimura here.

Shifter is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Nicoletta pushes Shifter off looking to stand but Shifter dives back in and keeps control.

Shifter has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Nicoletta defend it? Shifter steps over the head and cranks it - Nicoletta is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Shifter!
