Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tom Dancer (ranked 2911 p4p, 3832 weight class) and Jason Mason (ranked 314 p4p, 385 weight class). Tom Dancer had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tom Dancer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Mason! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mason shoots in looking for a takedown but Dancer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mason's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Dancer looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Jason Mason seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mason drives through with a takedown into Dancer's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Mason slips nicely into half guard. Mason is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dancer doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mason. Dancer is defending against the submission attempts here by Mason.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mason is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Mason is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dancer defends it well. Dancer is trying to stand back up but Mason is controlling him

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mason stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mason is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mason wants to free his trapped foot but Dancer is holding on for dear life with his legs. Dancer wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dancer is refusing to be controlled, as Mason sits in half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Mason frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Mason tries to control but Dancer wriggling away. Mason controlling from the full mount. Dancer keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Mason tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mason trying to control but he's not successful this time. Mason moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Dancer has worked his arm free - good work by Dancer!
Dancer wants to get back to his feet. Dancer throws Mason to one side and escapes! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mason throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Mason blocks a head kick by Dancer.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Mason dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Mason tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mason tries a head kick but it misses.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Mason. Dancer shrugs it off though. Mason looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dancer is fending him off so far but Mason persists. Nope, Dancer circles away and we're back to standing. Dancer throws a counter high kick but Mason was just alert enough to avoid it. Dancer tries to clinch up and Mason counters with a good low kick that Dancer was not able to check. Mason has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mason ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dancer moves away. Dancer tries to land a front kick but Mason steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dancer uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mason. Dancer clinches up with Mason and pushes him back against the cage. Dancer softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Dancer is defending well against a takedown attempt. Mason tries for a takedown but Dancer manages to get underhooks.
Tom Dancer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Mason. Dancer lands a nice uppercut. Mason has Dancer pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dancer manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Dancer misses with a body punch.

Mason has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Dancer regains guard immediately. Jason Mason has got the better of the ground game so far. Dancer wriggles free and stands up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mason looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mason looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dancer is fending him off so far but Mason persists. Nope, Dancer circles away and we're back to standing. Nice takedown defense from Dancer. No joy for Mason on that attempt. Dancer throws a counter high kick but Mason was just alert enough to avoid it. Mason shoots in and drives through. Dancer sprawls well. Dancer tries to land a front kick but Mason steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Mason fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Mason is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dancer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Dancer throws a counter high kick but Mason was just alert enough to avoid it. Mason shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dancer defends it nicely. Dancer throwing a counter right hand but Mason manages to avoid it. Mason tests Dancer's chin there with a solid looking shot. A momentary lapse in concentration from Dancer enables Mason to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dancer manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Dancer is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dancer tries to work over Mason's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Dancer goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Mason is looking for a takedown. Mason has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Dancer is trying to keep an underhook but Mason manages to get the takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Dancer has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Mason is on him like a limpet, forcing Dancer back against the cage. Dancer misses with the head strike.
Mason wants to take the fight to the mat but Dancer manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Dancer lands on the inside with an uppercut. Dancer doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Mason throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A little feinted left hand from Dancer on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Dancer is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Mason doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Tom Dancer dominated that second round. That's time! Dancer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round! Dancer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dancer throws a head kick that misses. A nice leg kick lands there from Mason. Dancer stuffs the takedown. Mason misses with a takedown attempt - Dancer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mason fakes the leg kick and cracks Dancer in the body. Mason doesn't succeed with the takedown and Dancer counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Jason Mason has been cut. Tom Dancer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Mason.

and Dancer counters with a lovely straight right hand! Dancer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Dancer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Mason keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Mason shoots in for a takedown but Dancer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Mason fails with the takedown. Mason takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Mason shoots for a double leg takedown but Dancer sprawls well. He's pushed Mason's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. It looked like Dancer was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Dancer stuffs the takedown. Dancer looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Dancer. A low kick from Mason misses letting Dancer counter with a right hand. Dancer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Mason is trying to counter with his kicks. Dancer lands a big head kick that sends Mason tumbling to the mat! Dancer takes a step backwards and waves Mason back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Mason is rocked! Tom Dancer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dancer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dancer is looking for a counter combo. Mason is still on wobbly legs! Can Dancer finish him? Some bone on bone action there as Dancer checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. And Dancer counters with a quick kick to the body but Mason blocks it. Dancer swings for the body but Mason moves out of range.
Mason seems to have recovered his senses. Dancer tries a head kick but it misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dancer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mason.
Dancer is looking to counter with head kicks. Tom Dancer is winning the standup battle so far. Mason darts in looking for a takedown but Dancer gets double underhooks and turns Mason into the cage. Dancer throws a head kick that misses. Mason flicks out a counter leg kick but Dancer steps away. Mason will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Dancer pushes Mason away with a front kick. Dancer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A jab lands there for Dancer.
That has opened up Jason Mason's cut even more. Mason shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dancer napping and manages to drive through into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mason advances nicely into full mount. Dancer wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

This has been an exciting period of action! Dancer regains half guard. Dancer kicks Mason off and gets back to his feet. Dancer scores with a push kick. Mason throws a nice inside leg kick.
And that's the end of the fight! Tom Dancer showed his dominance in that final round. Well Dancer has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
