Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Cellier (ranked 3761 p4p, 4489 weight class) and Tyler Richardson (ranked 418 p4p, 482 weight class). Cellier's entrance music is Bande Organisée. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paul Cellier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tyler Richardson! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cellier pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Tyler Richardson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cellier connects with a good right hand that stumbles Richardson. Richardson circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Richardson instigates a clinch. Richardson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Richardson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cellier tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Richardson is in Cellier's guard. Cellier looking to hit a scissor sweep but Richardson is one step ahead there. Richardson stops Cellier from standing up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Richardson throwing strikes from guard but Cellier blocks nicely. Richardson looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Richardson won't allow Cellier to sweep him here. Cellier is working an open guard so Richardson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Cellier lands with a nice combination. Richardson backs away looking to recover. Richardson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cellier tries to avoid it but Richardson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cellier to the ground. Cellier escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Cellier throws a looping overhand right but Richardson ducks down to avoid it. Richardson tries for a takedown but Cellier circles away easily and Cellier counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Richardson moves forwards but Cellier connects with a nice, crisp jab. Cellier closes the distance and lands a one-two. Cellier tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Richardson is able to avoid easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cellier throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Richardson. Cellier misses with a series of wild punches.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cellier lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Richardson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Cellier cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Cellier looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Paul Cellier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyler Richardson. Cellier with a hook. Richardson closes the distance and clinches. Cellier is trying to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Richardson keeping moving, preventing Cellier from controlling successfully. Richardson has his foot on Cellier's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cellier works his way back into a safe position though. Richardson trying to control the position.
Richardson being controlled here, momentarily. Cellier will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Richardson throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Cellier trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Richardson working for a triangle but Cellier defends it easily.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Richardson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Cellier attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. It seemed like Richardson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Cellier connects with a crisp jab. Richardson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Cellier is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Cellier lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Richardson circles away quickly and effectively. Richardson tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Richardson with a poor takedown and Cellier counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Cellier throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Nice takedown defense from Cellier. No joy for Richardson on that attempt. Cellier throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Cellier tests Richardson's chin there with a solid looking shot. Cellier tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Richardson throws a body kick that misses and Cellier counters with a series of strikes. Richardson will be more careful next time no doubt. Cellier is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Richardson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Richardson looks winded! Richardson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Richardson wants it to stay on the feet. Cellier lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
That's six minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cellier looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Cellier swinging wildly here.
Richardson shoots in looking for a takedown but Cellier manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Richardson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Cellier takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Richardson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Richardson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Cellier catches Richardson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Richardson checks a leg kick nicely. Cellier misses with a few strikes there.

Jab, jab by Cellier - just one landing. Cellier scores with a jab. Cellier gets tackled into the ropes by Richardson. Richardson maintains the clinch. Richardson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Cellier uses from the top position. Richardson is trying to control the position but Cellier postures up. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Cellier slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Cellier wants to control from the top but Richardson keeps moving.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Cellier throwing strikes but missing. Cellier trying to control but Richardson is working from the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Richardson can do anything to dispel that myth. Cellier tries to stand but Richardson is controlling from the bottom. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Cellier stopping the sweep attempt from Richardson. Cellier in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Some bone on bone action there as Richardson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Cellier avoids a kick to the body.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Cellier misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Cellier stuffs the takedown attempt from Richardson. Richardson gets slowly back to his feet. Cellier swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Cellier lands the left hand. Richardson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Richardson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Richardson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Cellier knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Richardson on the ground. Richardson pushes down on Cellier's leg and manages to get into half guard. Richardson prevents Cellier from improving his position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Cellier dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round! Richardson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cellier but Cellier pushes him off and we're back to square one. A quick step to the side and Cellier tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Cellier misses with a jab, cross combination.

Cellier smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Richardson darts in and clinches Cellier up against the ropes. Richardson has Cellier pressed against the ropes, preventing Cellier from circling away and getting back to striking at range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Richardson using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Cellier has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Richardson is trying to trip Cellier. He has hold of a leg but Cellier is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Richardson persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Richardson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cellier's guard.

Richardson is trying to control the action in half guard but Cellier is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Richardson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Cellier is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Richardson keeps control of the position easily here as Cellier tries to buck him off.
Cellier is trying to stand back up. Richardson has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Cellier's body.

Richardson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Richardson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cellier defends it easily.

Richardson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cellier is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Richardson, into his guard. Cellier trying to control but Richardson is working from the bottom.

Cellier trying to control the position from guard on top but Richardson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Richardson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cellier as he jumps to the side. Cellier throws a leg kick but Richardson sees it coming and checks it nicely. Richardson has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Cellier ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Richardson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Richardson lands in his opponent's guard. Richardson trying to control the position from guard on top but Cellier is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cellier wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Richardson manages to pass to side control. Richardson trying to control the action but Cellier is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Tyler Richardson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
