And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 4 losses; Domingo The Flamingo! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. The Flamingo has his takedown stuffed and Wellington counters into the clinch. Nicely done. The Flamingo is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the ropes enables Wellington to keep the fight standing. Wellington successfully pulls guard.
The Flamingo looking to sit in guard and control but Wellington gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Wellington (2) vs (0) The Flamingo The Flamingo is trying to hold Wellington in close to prevent damage but Wellington has managed to pass into half guard.
Wellington works his way into side control. Score +3 for passing guard: Wellington (5) vs (0) The Flamingo The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wellington controlling the position from side mount. Wellington will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. That's one minute gone in the round. Wellington looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Wellington looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Wellington content just to control the position here. Wellington jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but The Flamingo manages to avoid the submission attempt. Wellington advances to mount. That's two minutes gone in the round. The Flamingo has left one of his arms exposed and Wellington doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. The Flamingo screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
