Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Strdoza stuffs the takedown attempt from Pancake. Pancake gets slowly back to his feet. Strdoza swats away the attempt to clinch by Pancake. Strdoza is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Strdoza slaps away a takedown attempt from Pancake, before circling back to the center of the mat. Pancake shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Strdoza napping and manages to drive through into side control! That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pancake has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Strdoza is trying to improve his position. Strdoza is trying to maintain the position but Pancake is very close to passing his half guard. Strdoza wants to improve his position but Pancake is controlling well.
Pancake wants to take a breather but Strdoza is having none of it. Strdoza is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Pancake is just content to waste time from the top position. Strdoza takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Strdoza working for a triangle but Pancake defends it easily.
Pancake tries to free his leg and advance position but Strdoza is retaining full guard. Pancake seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Pancake stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Strdoza swivels though and keeps the full guard. Strdoza is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Strdoza keeping moving, preventing Pancake from controlling successfully. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Pancake knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Pancake is trying to control Strdoza's posture but Strdoza avoids it. Strdoza tries for a kimura but Pancake is defending well.
