This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 3 losses; Oscar Gage! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Fook Man! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Man gets in close and instigates a clinch. Man looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Gage tightens his grip and picks Man up, before dumping him to the ground. Man manages to land in guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Gage (2) vs (0) Man Gage tries to free his leg and advance position but Man is retaining full guard. Gage preventing the sweep. Man working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gage doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gage manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Gage advances position into side control! Score +3 for passing guard: Gage (5) vs (0) Man Man is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Man won't allow Gage to pass to mount. Gage is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Man has managed to free his arm - good work. Gage has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Man is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Gage looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gage is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Man is trying to get back to full guard. Man is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gage pulls his head out easily. Man is looking for a sweep. Gage is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gage is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Man doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gage. Gage trying to control the action but Man is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gage wants to work for an arm triangle but Man is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gage moves into full mount! Man won't be happy about that! Score +3 for passing guard: Gage (8) vs (0) Man Gage looking to control but Man is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Man is desperately trying to improve his position but Gage has a good base and remains in mount. Man tries to control Gage's body but Gage pushes him off. Gage has the hooks in. Man is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Gage working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Man tries to escape the position.
Man breaks Gage's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Man wants to control from the top but Gage keeps moving. Man stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gage swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gage is positioning himself well to prevent Man advancing to mount. Man is looking to take a break and control but Gage is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Gage looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Gage wants to get back to full guard. Gage is trying to maintain the position but Man is very close to passing his half guard. Man is keen to just control but Gage is a slippery customer. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Gage is not content to let Man control the position. Gage moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Gage looking for a guillotine here but Man defends easily.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Gage keeping moving, preventing Man from controlling successfully. Gage is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Gage escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Man gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Man content to stall in guard here. Gage has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Man can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Man wants to control from the top but Gage keeps moving. Gage controls Man momentarily but Man frees himself. Man stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gage swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gage keeping moving, preventing Man from controlling successfully.

Gage has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Man is working away from the top position though. Man is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gage has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Man wants to control but Gage is keeping him busy. Gage trying to hold on to Man's head to control him but Man postures up.
Gage has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Man. Oh but Gage has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Man goes limp - he's gone! Gage jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
