And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Akio Kurosaki!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?
Kurosaki rushes Whitlock and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Whitlock has Kurosaki pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Kurosaki manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Whitlock tries to score a body lock takedown but Kurosaki shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Whitlock jumps into guard, dragging Kurosaki to the mat.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Whitlock working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kurosaki doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kurosaki manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Kurosaki trying to control the position from guard on top but Whitlock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Whitlock is trying to push Kurosaki off with his feet but Kurosaki grabs hold of one of the legs and drops back looking for a submission! He's cranking on one of Whitlock's ankles and Whitlock is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaall over!
